April to May to June, and almost July, has seemed to fly by. Most of that has passed by in a whirl of many new life changes. And in keeping true to the “lighting quick recap” here’s just a overview of what that whirlwind has looked like for me:
moving
graduations
discovering acrylic glue-on nails are not for me
getting married!
lots of BBQ and sushi
board games
reading the Michael Vey series (2/5 books read)
and looking for a new church
That’s a lot! Not to mention all the paperwork getting married and moving requires, right on the heels of wedding planning. Unbelievably overwhelming at times. Unbelievably amazing pretty much at all times. The sheer amount of things has made making time to write fall on the backburner. Even with the things I’d like to do still with Imprinted, and the other 2 books in the series, it’s felt like a huge list of things to tackle. And when it comes to decompressing, YouTube and TV sometimes looks like a lower barrier to relaxing than writing does…
But! There’s some good news there too:
I just finished the first draft of Imprinted book 2! It’s on the longer side of books I’ve finished writing (roughly 70k), and I’m excited to see how it continues to grow and change through the editing process.
And if you’re interested in beta reading when it’s ready, please let me know! I’d be happy to have you when that time comes, even if it won’t be ready for a handful of months
For the month of July, the ebook for Imprinted will be 50% off when purchased through Smashwords!
I’m experimenting with using Draft2Digital as a distributor for my ebooks. So while my paperbacks are still only available through Amazon, if you’d like to purchase an ebook of Imprinted elsewhere, here’s a link to all the places you can purchase it from.
That’s a lot of quick, high-level facts to absorb and I’m excited to dive into those things as I get back to writing here regularly. Regularly meaning my goal is 2 posts a month. I’m excited to get back to this space, both reading and writing. I’ve been working on catching up on reading slowly but surely. I know they’re older posts, but I still wanted to share some thoughtful articles I’ve enjoyed over the last few months:

Thank you all for your patience while I’ve been a bit more distant, and excited to connect with each of you more in this space.

My YA novella, Stars Above, is now permanently available for $0.99 as an ebook. You can also visit my website to learn more about me and my work. Thank you.
Ahhhhh this is amazingggg plus I’ll let Allie know about your book and ask her if she’d like to beta read it! She’d be a much higher quality external viewpoint than me. Also: yesyesyes to Michael Vey. Chef’s kiss kinda book.
